π The Romance & Relationship
I love how natural Grace and Henry’s relationship was, and how it progressed from strangers to friends to lovers. They weren’t looking for love, love just happened to find them. Henry naturally becoming a part of the kids’ lives, Grace starting to heal, and all of their moments fitting the holiday movies they just happened to be watching together!

π₯ The Characters
Grace
Grace’s grieving journey was a rollercoaster of emotions, which is pretty accurate (in my personal opinion). Her way of coping by imagining her husband and talking to him was comforting. Her humor and straightforward approach to everything was refreshing. All while balancing life as a mother, bar owner, and her own self.
Henry
Henry at the beginning of the book would be SO proud of Henry at the end of the book. He took the first few steps in healing, which is major for him! He also learned to open his heart again and found himself caring for others (including animals). The growth Henry showed was heartwarming and tearjerking honestly!
Ian
Out of all the characters in this book, Ian was my favorite (along with Harry Styles)! He felt like the glue holding everyone together, whether it was his relationship with Henry or his own family.
Bella
Oh my goodness, Bella was precious! She’s so young but so funny and smart already!
Cal
I really love Cal’s supporting role in the book! Grief is different for everyone and how people show up for their loved ones differs too.

βοΈ The Setting & Style
What I Loved:
I’ll admit, any book handling grief is almost always an automatic 5 star read for me. This book though?! The way Grace and Henry’s individual grieving journeys were written was so beautiful! It didn’t feel rushed, everything that happened flowed and made sense, just an amazing book.
What Could’ve Been Better:
There was a certain plot point I wasn’t expecting and, while done well, I just didn’t love it as part of the story. Grace just couldn’t catch a break! After all she’s been through, she’s STILL going through it?!Β
